Worshipful Ronde de Jambe sequence

ballet for worshipThe ronde de jambe is one of my favorite movements in dance. It is so graceful and communicates reverence and adoration. So, when given the assignment to create a tutorial from Lynn Hayden’s Ballet III DVD, I chose her ronde de jambe sequence.  You can watch this 4 minutes video below. Enjoy and feel free to borrow from for your own choreography.

A word of caution before you watch or try this: The Ballet III DVD is fairly advanced. It assumes some ballet training and familiarity with the concepts on Pastor Lynn’s Ballet I and Ballet II DVDs. So, take that into account when/if you try to follow along. Listen to your body and don’t do anything that doesn’t feel right to you.

I’ve also included a ronde de jambe sequence from Pastor Lynn’s Modern Dance II DVD that is a bit simpler. So, try this one out, too.

If you find you just want more than the tutorial, take a look at the Ballet III and Modern Dance II DVD’s themselves in my store. While ballet is not my forte or my favorite dance expression (I love modern because it is so emotive), I find that, when I include ballet practice in my weekly routine, I see improvement in my dance all around.

I’d love to hear from you in the comments:

What worship words do you envision when you watch these movements?

What is your favorite ballet or modern movement sequence?

Thanks so much for allowing me to be part of your life.
