Nutrition and Wellness for Praise Dancers
Today I’m going to be talking about something that is absolutely critical to our ability to dance with freedom and to have longevity with dancers.
It is an issue that affects our mood, our energy, our relationships, our finances.
And, sadly, it’s an area that the Body of Christ often neglects.
This is an issue that is close to my heart. I’ve had my own struggles in this area through which the Lord has brought healing wholeness.
I’m going to be sharing the importance of caring for our bodies, these amazing vessels in which Jesus dwells. I’m going to be talking about taking care of our health. Our bodies are His temple and He cares about the condition of them.
As a mentor once said, “Take care of your body so that your body doesn’t get in the way of what your spirit (and the Spirit) wants to say through you.”
It’s my hope that this will encourage you, will inspire you, and equip you to make some simple changes.
It’s also my hope that, if you are a leader, that you will share this information with your team.
Even if you are not an official leader, you have people you influence. Many of them are suffering in ways the Lord longs to relieve them of.
If you are working with children, you have the unique privilege and responsibility to help them establish habits that they will carry on with them into adulthood. You literally have the opportunity to change the trajectory of their lives by helping them establish healthy habits.
Earlier this year, I read the book of Haggai and then also the first few chapters of Ezra. In these books, the Lord instructs the exiles who returned to Israel from Babylon to rebuild the temple that had been destroyed. Several times, the Lord says to His people, “Give careful thought to your ways”, and “be diligent.” He says to do this “so that (He) may take pleasure in it and be honored.” (Haggai 1:8)
And then he tells them that “the glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house.” (Haggai 2:9)
God cares very much about the temple in which He dwells, both because in it, He is glorified, and because he cares deeply for the well being of His servants. He cares deeply about your well being and He cares deeply about you and your body. And surely the glory of this house is even greater than the glory of the former house.
I, too, care very much about being well and helping others be well in their bodies, minds, and spirits. This year, I feel called to invest more time educating the Body of Christ about the importance of caring for our bodies. God has given me healing in my own life in this area and has given me a voracious appetite to learn about the things that help us stay well and the things that can be obstacles to health and wholeness. It’s my desire to share them with others, especially worship dancers.
In this video, I’m going to share with you some very simple things we can do that can make a big difference in our health. This, in turn, will enable us to dance with greater freedom, glorify God with our bodies, and will also set ourselves up for longevity as dancers.

Thank you Amy!
Good morning Amy, I really enjoyed this teaching, it was exactly what I needed to help get me back on track. The Lord is doing a new thing in this season of my life and I am a worship leader and over the dane ministry at my church. Last year due to COVID the mininstry……..well I struggled with it and kind of fell down on my assignment. God have been calling me back to it and told me the more I dance the more he will reveal and restore to me. I have started back dancing and I’m working on our annual dance jubilee this is year 7. My passion, desire and excitement is back and I’m looking forward the shift that God is doing. I thank you for your teaching it gave me alot of good points to share with the youth and to help them in their journey of dance. Be blessed and keep doing what you are doing it matters! Love you, your sister in Christ!
Thank you so much, Kila. I’m so grateful this has encouraged you. I would love to hear how your annual jubilee dance went this year. Bless you as you continue in your calling and thank you for taking time to encourage me.
